Future Music - David Toop "Sound Body"

With Sound Body, diverse musician and author David Toop takes improvised musical performances from 14 contributors and digitally re-defines them on this lengthy 5-track collection of shadowy electronic pieces. Updating the principles of music concrete, by creating music using ‘real sounds’ via the very latest in digital processing, Toop creates a starkly avant-garde body of work here. I won’t pretend that Sound Body is easy-listening; it’s radiant, slowly-mutating background listening for transportation to a time, a place. Like most experiments of its ilk, the album is both fascinating and boring in equal measure - largely depending on your mood.
